Here’s what you pay for orders from ezCater

How Much Does ezCater Cost?

There are no signup fees or recurring monthly fees to be an ezCater partner. You only pay when you accept an order.

Food Total and Delivery Fees

The food subtotal and any delivery fees are paid by the customer based on your menu pricing and settings.

Commission:

You pay a standard commission for orders you accept from the ezCater Marketplace, and a reduced commission for orders that come through ezOrdering from your website.

This commission powers the 5-star service team supporting your orders, the technology to manage your catering business, and everything else we do to help you grow. It also fuels the marketing that brings you more Marketplace orders.

Commission applies to the meal subtotal, delivery fee, and any service fees or automatic gratuities you have in place. It does not apply to voluntary tips or taxes.

Payment Transaction Fee: 

You pay a fee for ezCater to process all your payment transactions. Applies to meal subtotal, delivery, and tax.

The Payment Transaction Fee applies to meal subtotal, delivery fee, tax, and any service fees or automatic gratuities you have in place. It does not apply to voluntary tips.

 

Optional: Marketing Programs

By paying more through Preferred Partner and ezRewards, you can get more orders from the ezCater Marketplace. These fees are investments to increase your order volume. You only pay if they get you more orders, and you can adjust your settings at any time.

Marketing Program fees apply to meal subtotal on Marketplace orders.

Optional: ezDispatch

If you choose, you can use ezDispatch to hand off delivery of an order to our network of professional, reliable delivery providers.

ezDispatch fees will appear under the miscellaneous category in the payment breakdown on the payments tab. 

Sales Tax

Sales Tax Collected is the total sales tax paid by the customer.

Sales Tax shows the tax passed through for you to remit. It equals the total tax collected minus the tax ezCater remits on your behalf.

Sales Tax Remitted by ezCater shows the tax we have remitted on your behalf based on “marketplace facilitator” laws, if applicable. See state-by-state details.

Voluntary Tips

The voluntary tip is passed on to you in full unless ezDispatch was used.

If you require automatic gratuity, we would just require a copy of verification that this fee would also be applied to a catering order organized directly through your store.

Feel free to send us a copy of your website or anything you have readily available that demonstrates this fee policy in effect. Once we receive that, we would be happy to update your ezCater account.

Miscellaneous Fees

If you charge automatic gratuity or a service fee on your in house orders, We are happy to match the service fee, however Commission and Payment Transaction Fees apply to these fees if they are present.

ezDispatch Charge: $30 minimum or 10% for orders > $300. 

If you request an ezDispatch driver on-demand orders, you're responsible for paying the difference between the cost of ezDispatch, and the customer facing delivery fee. We recommend matching our ezDispatch pricing structure of: $30 minimum or 10% for orders > $300 if you plan on using ezDispatch often. 

If you decide to turn on Automatic ezDispatch, you will need to match your customer-facing delivery fee to our ezDispatch delivery structure.

Commission = $19.50
15% of $130 (meal subtotal & delivery)

Payment Transaction Fee = $4.09
2.99% of $137 (meal subtotal, delivery & tax)

After commission and credit card fees, you’d get $83.41 for this order.

How & When Will I Be Paid?

ezCater pays out via ACH. We process payments every Tuesday for the previous week's billing cycle. Our billing cycles run from Monday to Sunday.
