Transition to New Payment Processor - FAQs

Please note: these FAQs only apply if you received an email from us in early November with the subject: “We’re moving to a new payments processor -...”

ezCater is currently undergoing a transition to a new payment processor.  Our initial outreach regarding a request for financial contacts began several months ago. We're now progressing into the next phase of this payment processor transition during the fall and winter seasons.

To keep you well-informed, we have prepared a set of updated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) as of November 2023.  These FAQs aim to address any inquiries you may have about this transition and ensure a smooth experience throughout the process.

Why the change?

We’ve outgrown our old method of paying Catering Partners.

Is there anything changing about my ezCater payments?

No - your payments will continue uninterrupted, however the exact time of day when payments arrive to your bank account may change slightly.

Payments are processed on Tuesdays, and may take 1-2 days to hit depending on your financial institution.

Do I need to do anything?

If we have the information we need on file for your business, then there’s nothing that you need to do at this time. In the event that we do need more information to complete the transition process, then an ezCater representative will reach out to your financial contact directly.

If you are paid via Check: Please note that we will no longer make payments via check starting April 30, 2024. If you are currently paid via check, we will reach out to you with next steps to provide your ACH info.

Can I still receive check payments?

ezCater will no longer be offering checks as of January 1, 2024. All payments will be made via ACH only. This is a faster and safer way to pay you.

Why am I being asked for additional verification information?

ezCater adheres to regulatory best practices and guidelines to ensure security and limit the risk of fraud for our customers and their funds. As part of ezCater's payment process, all catering partners must complete our Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) verification processes. There’s no further action required on your end - this process may require you to provide additional proof of identity and pass third-party verification checks - ezCater will reach out directly.

What is a financial contact?

This financial contact is usually the owner, financial manager, or accountant.  Your financial contact is responsible for accepting ezCater’s Terms & Conditions, and providing company, tax, and payment information on behalf of your business. They will be the only contact who can update that information going forward.

What is a KYC check?

A KYC (Know Your Customer) check is a procedure used by businesses and financial institutions to verify the identity of their customers. It typically involves collecting and verifying personal information, such as government-issued identification and proof of address, to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations.
